National Year of Reading 2012

     What NYR events are happening at St Martin's?

Australian Libraries and Library Associations are involved in the promotion of the National Year of Reading 2012 (NYR).  In partnership with Governments, Media, Schools, Writers, Booksellers and other organisations, NYR was launched on 14th February to promote and improve literacy skills across all age groups.

At St Martin’s we will be celebrating the National Year of Reading through a variety of events:

· Class Photo Montage

· Premier’s Reading Challenge

· Author Visits for each year level

· Year 5, 6 & 7 Readers Cup Competitions

· Scholastic Book Fair – booked for August

· “Are We There Yet?” Art & Writing competition

· Children’s Book Council Year 7 Readers Cup Competition

· Book Week Celebrations in August “Champions Read”
