Using ACER testing as well as other tools for assessing reading comprehension and phonetic awareness, teachers gather data informing children’s progress to inform the next stage of teaching and summative reports.
This rich data is a very effective way of monitoring progress and we continue to modify it to suit the needs of St. Martin’s children and teachers. An example of one modification is the movement, of this assessment, from May to February next year. This will enable us to ascertain the learning direction for the children as they start a new year.
